Women of Color on Computing Research Collaborative Virtual Summit

In August and September, the researchers of the Women of Color in Computing Research Collaborative (WOCC), a partnership between CGEST and the Kapor Center in California, presented their research on barriers and solutions faced by girls and women of color in education, technology fields and entrepreneurship. While these presentations were intended to take place during the Women of Color STEM Entrepreneurship Conference, due to the postponing of the annual conference, WOCC hosted two virtual summits for the researchers to share their findings as an alternative. Researchers presented their findings on the barriers and solutions that girls and women of color face in K-12 and higher education in the first summit on August 28th and the barriers and solutions faced in tech and entrepreneurship in the second summit on September 21st.

CGEST thanks the Kapor Center for their continued partnership and Dr. Allison Scott for all her hard work supporting the Women of Color in Computing Research Collaborative. CGEST would also like to thank everyone who participated in presenting and attending the virtual summits for their continued support of gender equity in STEM.
