Cybersecurity is not only becoming a huge sector within the technology community it is a very popular topic in the news at the current moment as is exactly why we think it is so important for our girls to keep learning about this growing field.

43 COVID-19 Cybersecurity Stats
Times of crisis tend to see cyber crimes increase and the current pandemic is not exception. Even early on it has been clear that COVID-19 has become the largest-security threat that we have ever seen. Additionally, remote working has created a new challenge for organizations to keep their systems and data secure.
Women in Cybersecurity
As mentioned in the cybersecurity statistics for 2020 article, a staffing shortfall is expected in the industry of over three million jobs this coming year. According to this article it is believed that if women were proportionally represented in the industry a lot of that shortfall would be reduced dramatically. Although, female representation in the industry has increased since 2011, we still have a long way to go to reach a proper representation of our population.
