It is with great difficulty that I announce that I will be leaving my position as Communications Aide, January 7th. It has truly been a pleasure working with all of the incredible, inspiring, and considerate co-workers and supervisors of CGEST. Before I joined the center, I had no idea how challenging it was for women of color to advance in STEM careers. While I have certainly come into contact with gender and disability inequality, as I have much experience with those two topics, I had a minimal understanding of the different factors that could affect a girl of color's experience with technology. With this being said, I have much more respect for women of color who have made advances in their chosen careers. It was a joy to come into work every day, surrounded by inspirational women and men, who were clearly very passionate about their field of work.

I look forward to using the many tools I have developed over the past six months in my future employment. Due to my decreasing health and increase in school workload, I plan on going back to my position as Student Union Supervisor at Arizona State University, Polytechnic Campus, and finishing my last semester of my undergrad in the Spring. My final semester is going to be very challenging. Thus, it would be in my best interest to limit myself to one job. After I finish my bachelor's degree in Technical Communications, depending on my health, I would like to be either be a medical receptionist or a Communications Specialist/Supervisor/Director. I would be extremely happy to continue social media managing in the future, as well.

My health has always had a big impact on my life. Thus, I am so thrilled to have been able to work for CGEST. Even a couple of years ago, I was too sickly to keep a job, so I am ecstatic that I was able to work for a center as incredible as CGEST. This was a challenging yet extremely rewarding position, and I have learned so much about the communication department and what kinds of tasks I may be given if I were to continue employment in that department in the future. I am very proud of all I have been able to accomplish here and am excited to see what my future has in store. It truly has been a pleasure, and I look forward to seeing all the incredible things this center will continue to accomplish. I wish CGEST and its employees the very best.
