Meet & Greet on June 11, 2022
On June 11, 2022, the Center for Gender Equity in Science and Technology (CGEST) hosted an enthusiastic crowd of students and campers at their Compugirls Cyber Warrior Summer 2022 Camp Meet and Greet at the ASU Memorial Union. In attendance during the morning session were parents and students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Kudos to Manfred Reysser, Project Coordinator; Rachel Ware, Graduate Research Assistant; and Sarthak Aggarwal, Project Assistant, for organizing an excellent DSEC-funded event for the upcoming Cybersecurity camp hosted for high school students in Arizona.
Dr. Tara Nkrumah, Acting Executive Director, engaged the audience in activities designed to build connections with each other by learning the history of our names and she talked about the purpose of the Center's work in connection with the camp.
Compugirls Cyber Warrior Summer Camp from June 27 through July 1, 2022
Compugirls Cyber Warrior Summer 2022 Camp took place from June 27 through July 1, 2022, and was the first in-person camp since the pandemic started in 2020. The curriculum is designed to create connections that support lifelong skill development in an empowering, creative, and fun environment. CompuGirls Cyber Warriors learned the latest technologies in robotics, cybersecurity, and coding.
