Welcome Jon Lefurgey, Administrative Assistant, CGEST

Jon Lefurgey was born in Hays, Kansas, where his father taught television production. Deciding to move from Hays, his family relocated to Virginia Beach where they lived for eight years. From Virginia Beach, his family then moved to Clifton Park, New York, where Jon began his career in higher education as a student solution center representative working for the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York.

When Jon’s parents retired to Arizona with his brother and his sister, Jon decided it was time to move to Arizona, as well, and leave winters behind in New York.

In keeping with his desire to remain in higher education administration, Jon accepted roles with ASU’s College of Integrative Sciences and Arts at the Polytechnic Campus and then with The Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at the Tempe Campus working in their advising office for undergraduate students. He subsequently worked at Gateway Community College.

Now, we are pleased to welcome Jon back to ASU at CGEST. “I am looking forward to continuing my career in higher education,” Jon says, “and I am looking forward to working with the faculty and staff for The Center for Gender Equity in Science and Technology.”
